What we do

The Friends of St Mary’s supports the church by raising funds through:

• subscriptions currently from over 120 Friends of the church
• donations and legacies
• an ongoing programme of concerts, recitals, exhibitions and other events, aiming to enable a wide variety of local people to enjoy this beautiful building. The support of the Riverside 100 Musical Theatre Company and other local groups is very much appreciated.

Since their launch in 2012 the Friends have raised over £100,000 helping pay for various essential refurbishments to the church building, including the church roof, masonry and carving, stained glass windows and the church bells.

The Friends have also purchased a defibrillator which is fixed on the side of the church centre and can be accessed by anyone in the vicinity.
